In 1884, during the British colonial war in Sudan. The British officer harry faversham (Heath Ledger), who comes from a military family, is just engaged to his fiancee dai qi (Kate Hudson). However, after learning of his elite unit's plans to sail to Sudan to fight local muslims, harry was torn between his vision of a happy life and his fears and doubts about the war, and resigned from the army. To make fun of harry's cowardice, his three friends and daiqi send him four white feathers of shame. Harry felt a deep sense of guilt and remorse as the pain of desertion and the death list from the front continued to torment him. To save his honor, harry disguises himself as an Arab and travels to Sudan alone to save the lives of his comrades.
