King Lear (Ian McKellen) is an aging man who decides to divide his vast empire among his three daughters, cordelia (Romola Garai), genalier (Frances Barber) and Reagan (Monica Dolan). Lear let the three daughters to speak their hearts to the father of the love, gennarelle and Reagan tried to smooth talk to get the appreciation of Lear, the youngest cordelia simple and honest, but was ruthlessly expelled.Cordelia, who had lost her home, became queen of France, while the eldest and second daughters, who had gained much of their father's land, drove Lear out of the house. It was not until he was left in the wilderness that Lear realized what a terrible mistake he had made. He blamed himself for his ignorance, but he also felt sorry for cordelia. Learning of Lear's fate, cordelia organized an army to attack her hometown. Unfortunately, the army was defeated and cordelia was arrested. In the end, cordelia was put to death, and the old king Lear followed her in pain.
