The story focuses on Freddie (Ian McKellen) and Stuart (Derek Jacobi), two older gay men living in covent garden, London, who, 48 years after they moved in together, are still roommates. When they met Freddie was a new actor and Stuart was a barman. Now both are drawing pensions, walking the dog and reading the newspaper, fighting at the head of the bed and the end of the bed and the setting sun are still fascinating.
