Ben whisshaw, Russell tovey, Alan cumming and others have teamed up to star in the BBC Four's blockbuster new LGBT drama Queers, which will run for just one season and feature eight episodes, each with a monologue. The series will be directed by sherlock creator mark gatiss and is currently in production in the UK. The BBC and the old vic are part of the production. All eight 15-minute soliloquies will be performed on stage in July before the TV broadcast. The monologue will be written by eight writers, including gatis, to show the life and suffering of gay men and women in British history over the past 100 years.
