On August 29, 2005, the powerful and powerful Typhoon Katrina is about to hit New Orleans. At a local hospital, however, a man, Nolan Hayes (Paul Walker), is having the time of his life. He has just welcomed his new baby girl into the world, but his beautiful wife Abigail (Genesis Rodriguez) has died after giving birth. Unable to adapt to her new surroundings, the baby is placed in a warming box and left to survive with the aid of machines. As Nolan and his wife are confronted with the new baby, memories of their lives come back to haunt them, leaving the man with mixed feelings about his experience of tragedy.As the storm intensifies, the hospital is understaffed and the patients are forced to evacuate, while the collapsing dam brings the disaster to a head. Alone, Nolan must race against time and fate to protect the last of his loved ones in the world...
