Once upon a time, giants from the clouds came to the land on pods of beans, and they ravaged the land, devouring humans and causing havoc. Thanks to the brave and resourceful King Eric, the giants were driven back to their homeland, and the legend of the giants became more and more popular. When Jack (Nicholas Hoult), a young man from a poor family who has been fascinated by the tales of giants since he was a child, goes into town to buy a horse, he stumbles upon a monk who is being hunted by the royal guards and in a panic he trades his horse for a pod. As night falls and a rainstorm breaks out, Isabel (Eleanor Tomlinson), a princess who is reluctant to give up her life's happiness to another, runs away to Jack's house to escape the rain. As they chat, the rain-soaked pods suddenly sprout and the beanstalk grows wildly into the sky, taking the princess, trapped in the house, into the clouds.In order to retrieve the princess, Jack volunteers to join the rescue team assembled by the king...
