The gates are a famous family of adventurers. As a child, Ben (Nicolas Cage) learns one of his family's great secrets: the location of the nation's wealth was hidden in the declaration of independence when the United States was founded. Although his father doesn't want the gates family to be obsessed with national treasures, Ben sets off on a treasure hunt with computer nerd riley (Justin Bartha).Ben's treasure hunt soon reached an impasse. Meanwhile, Ian (Sean Bean), a British millionaire, has his eye on the treasure, and sends a spy into the national book of America to find the secret of the treasure in the declaration of independence and plot against it. After learning of Ian's sinister intentions, the library's Dr. Abigail (Diane Kruger) is determined to help Ben find the national treasure...
