The British navy's HMS Devon was sunk by an unidentified torpedo in Chinese territorial waters. In order to find out the situation, the British navy decided to use force, sent warships to the accident area to counter. However by secret intelligence director M (Judi Dench) to stop, and sent code name 007 agent James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) to find out the real reason, to avoid a war between the two countries on the brink of war. In the deepening investigation, media tycoon carver (Jonathan Pryce) enters bond's sights. And at carver's dinner party, bond meets his ex-girlfriend Paris (Teri Hatcher), now Mrs. Carver. With Paris' help, bond USES GPS to divert the British ships that have been sent off course to buy valuable time for his investigation. From carver stolen equipment, bond found the exact location of the sunken warship, but in the shipwreck with the Chinese female agent Lin hui (michelle yeoh) was captured by carver. It turned out that carver was trying to gain a global media monopoly by starting a war. This time, will bond escape from carver's clutches?
