The film is based on the life of Howard Hughes.Howard Hughes (Leonardo DiCaprio) was born in Houston, Texas, USA. At the age of 18, he inherited his father's fortune in Texas oil Wells and moved to Hollywood with his dream of making movies. In 1926 he bought control of 125 theaters and spent millions of dollars on the live-action aerial epic "Hell's Angels", making him a famous producer. He took over twA in 1939 and quickly turned the company around, working with the U.S. military during World War II to oversee the invention and improvement of the Blue Spruce aircraft.While Howard Hughes achieved great success in his career, he also suffered from depression and ocD. His love life has been turbulent, with Katharine Hepburn (Cate Blanchett) and Ava Gardner (Kate Beckinsale) leaving him, leaving him devastated.
