After surviving the apocalyptic crisis and escaping from their cave, the Gollum family decides to find a new home. Guy (Ryan Reynolds) has become a member of the Gollum family, but Gougo (Nicolas Cage) and his daughter Eep (Emma Stone) are having a hard time keeping up with each other and having a family. As the Gollum family hungers down, they discover a rich land of food hidden behind high walls. It turns out that Hope and Phil, the civilized couple who created this paradise, are friends of Guy's parents who have died. After the initial hospitality, Hope and Phil, intent on bringing Guy and his daughter, Xiao Xiao, together, find the Gollum family a stumbling block and resort to a trick to get Guy back. The two families quarrel, Guy and Eep also have a rift, but do not know the danger is slowly approaching...
