This season covers the years from 1977 to 1990, with the introduction of Lady Thatcher and Diana.As the 1970s drew to a close, Queen Olivia Colman's family struggled to find a suitable bride for 30-year-old Prince Josh O 'Connor to ensure a successor to the throne. Britain was convulsed by the controversial policies of its first female prime minister, Gillian Anderson. As Thatcher led Britain into the Falkland War, which led to discord within the Commonwealth, her relationship with the Queen was stormy. The fairytale romance between Prince Charles and the blossomed Princess Diana Corrin was just the moment to bring the British people together. Within the court, however, the royal family was increasingly divided.
