Titus (Anthony Hopkins) is a general loyal to the Roman Emperor, who trusts him for his bravery and loyalty. When war breaks out, Titus leads his family in a desperate battle against the Goths, and despite heavy casualties, wins the final victory and captures the Goth Queen Tamora (Jessica Lange) and her family. At a festival celebrating the victory, Titus selects Tamora's oldest son to be sacrificed as an offering.What Titus doesn't realize is that Tamora has become the Empress of this vast empire, and step by step he is falling into a revenge trap that Tamora has woven. As she enjoys the thrill of revenge, she realizes that Aeron (Harry J. Lennix), who has been helping her, has defected and fled to join Titus' exiled son.
