When their father dies, brothers Ernie (Nathan Lane) and Lars (Lee Evans) inherit a thread factory and an old house. Lars is kicked out of the house by his snobbish wife when he refuses to sell the mill, and Ernie is forced to live on the streets when the restaurant he owns is hit by an accident. The brothers have no choice but to move into the old house left behind by their father. By chance, the brothers learn that the old house they live in is an architect's heirloom, very artistic and worth millions of dollars. The brothers decided to renovate the house and sell it, but found the house had a mouse that had been living there for years. This clever mouse has feelings for the house, and does not want the brothers to sell it, so around this old house, a war between man and mouse is about to start ....
